Emergency Preparedness Sales Tax Free Weekend
I've heard of a Tax Free Weekend in Texas around back to school time, but never in April. This tax free weekend begins on Saturday, April 22 (Earth Day), and ends at midnight on Monday, April 24 with Emergency Preparedness items being tax free. With all the natural disasters that affect the state from Tornadoes, Flooding to Hurricanes, it's always good to have supplies on hand and ready. The state of Texas is helping out by skipping the sales tax on those items this weekend. Many are the same items you need for camping.. DOUBLE BONUS!!
A few things to have ready a head of time:
- Emergency Kits with items that are important to someone's health, like 14-21 days of needed medications
- Start buliding up food & water supplies for 14 - 21 days.
- Fortify your home to help prevent from being damaged in severe weather.
