Sean Mack's ATX Adventures: The Austin Zoo
Let's get wild!
Over the weekend, I made my first trip to the Austin Zoo! If you didn't know, the zoo is actually a non-profit organization that provides a home for various animals that have been abandoned or seized out of bad living conditions.
I was excited to get up close to all sorts of exotic animals...I didn't realize how close you could get! Right when you walk in, you are greeted by several peacocks and chickens. These birds aren't in cages...they just roam around the grounds!
This guy was just hanging out by the snack truck. Smart bird.
Next up was all sorts of farm animals...goats, lambs and the like.
This guy was pretty chill.
There were a series of exotic birds, giant turtles and even a big ol' pig. Next, I got to the giant cats...my favorite.
This cougar had two siblings, they all live together in a big enclosure with trees and all sorts of room to roam.
There were also two tigers! Always so cool to see up close.
Finally, a zoo worker came around with the Easter bunny(this was on Sunday). The tiger took quite the liking to him...
